Weekly Round Up

It's been awhile since I've done a proper round up, so I felt that now was the best time as ever to do one. So much has happened this past month that I couldn't help but share!

One of the most exciting things was the release of the Alexander Wang X H&M collaboration. After waiting in line for abour 6 hours, I successfully picked up all of the items that I had on my wish list and some more. It was definitely an experience to sit outdoors overnight, something I didn't quite enjoy, but I met some very fun people in line and would do it again if the next collaboration merits a line-up! I can't wait to find out who H&M collaborates with next.

Weekly Round Up

Events have become my life (for work that is). In one week, I attended almost 4 of them. And while they're tons of fun to go to, the work that goes into production is heavy and many sleepless nights. A couple of the most entertaining ones that I've been to so far were the pre-media launch part for The Rodnick Band X Peanuts collaboration as well as the S/S 2015 Greta Constantine collection. With many long days and tiring nights, it's safe to say that I'm craving some time to myself.

And time to myself can translate to getting my bros down at Spark Sessions! I had a blast networking with brands and meeting so many Toronto bloggers at the conference a few weekends ago. I learned a lot about the blogging industry and walked away with a huge goodie bag with a ton of products hat I can't wait to try. I smell some fun giveaways coming up soon!

I got my brows done at the Benefit brow bar, and they used the Gimme Brow in medium/deep, which turned out amazing! Apparently this brow gel has fibres that adhere to your skin as opposed to your brows in order to fill in the sparse areas and to create the illusion of a thicker brow. If there's anything that I need, it's definitely thicker brows. I'm loving the strong brow game that Cara Delevigne's got and if I can get a product to mimic that, golden stars to it!

Luckily we were each given a sample of Gimme Brow in our goodie bags, however I wound up with the light/medium, so I'm going to have to run to Sephora in order to pick up the right shade.

Weekly Round Up

I also wanted a new shade of polish on my nails when I was at a CND booth at The Frocktail Party, however I forgot that I had a gel top coat on one of my hands so the technician was unable to remove the lacquer. Fortunately for the fingers that had polish removed, she was able to replicate the design that I had originally used, so everything was fine and dandy. How have you guys spent the past few weeks?

Bi-Weekly Photo Round Up

Bi-Weekly Photo Round Up

These past few weeks and October itself alone has been ridiculously hectic. With due dates looming upon from work and attending events left right and centre, so much has happened. I'll try to condense my two weeks down as much as possible, but I highly doubt that this will be a light post.

My friend and I stopped by this new tea store, Jule, that opened next to the Maple Leaf Gardens Loblaws. Is it bad that it was the decor that drew us in as opposed to the offerings? Living walls? Heck yes, I'd love one too please!

That weekend was also the Etsy: Made in Canada event. Myself and a couple of friends stopped by the event to check out which vendors would be setting up shop. I fell in love with one of the dinosaur plants by Crown Flora Studio, but sadly had to special order mine because I wanted one on silver. Their current line only offers gold and other neons so I had to wait awhile for mine. We also joined up on some workshops and learned how to dye fabric in a Japanese style, and also designed stamps!

Fantastic event and thank you Etsy for hosting it!

What can I say, I guess I still have my sweet tooth, and it needed some indulgences. I tried some macarons from the recently opened up Petit Nuage, and tested out the 3-bite delicacies from Jelly Modern Doughnuts! I seriously recommend the Maple Walnut doughnut if you can get your hands on it, it's absolutely delish!

I also got to attend some fun events this month with my work buddies and had a fantastic time nomming on Italian Food at Holt Renfrew's Italian Immersion party. Toronto's Bridal Show also brought out some delicious cakes from Irresistable Cakes, and can we please take a moment to stop and appreciate these amazing gowns from Kleinfield? Don't forget the gown to the right that's lit up with LED lighs from MeU at the Startup Fashion Week Runway Show!

How was everybody's weekend and Thanksgiving?

Bi-Weekly Round-Up

Bi-Weekly Round-Up

A couple weekends ago I finally visited the new cafe in Toronto that everyone's been talking about, Colette Grand Cafe. We missed brunch that day as it isn't served on a Saturday afternoon, but I did have the chance to try some of the dishes as well as sample so future potential desserts. And did this cafe live up to the hype that everyone's been talking about? My verdict is yes, and that I'll be going back again soon!

Bi-Weekly Round-Up

I've eaten out way too much these past few weeks. But it's safe to say that I've been crossing off bucket list locations as opposed to randomly stopping into locations. I took a stroll down Ossington with a goal to get ahold of the famed macaron ice cream sandwhichs at Bang Bang Ice Cream and Bakery, but on the day I showed up, they had none left.

I settle for a half ice cream sandwhich comprised of a ginger cookie (watch out it's spicy - but good!) and the dolce de leche mixed with london fog ice cream wedged in between the two cookie slices. Oh boy was this ice cream sandwhich the definition of heaven! Albeit it was a little bit too sweet, I'm already planning a trip back to get ahold of the macaron ice cream sandwhich! That's my goal for this month before it gets too cold to eat ice cream anything!

Amidst enjoying my ice cream sandwhich I stepped into Crywolf and found these ridiculously cute concrete planters made by Concrete Barn TO. I need to get ahold of one of these in silver eventually for my new place!

I've also decided to reshape my nails for the winter and try out the "claw" look again. I no longer work in a chlorinated environment where manual labour is an everyday requirement so my nails can finally survive a decent manicure for once! But first, coffee - right?

Bi-Weekly Round Up

These past two weeks have been a whirlwind of change for me. Although overall it has mostly be rewarding, I would be lying if I didn't admit that there have been some downs. Besides having to quit a job and breaking my Clarisonic, I'd have to say that these few moments really have made my past two weeks into a much better adventure than it all really felt at those particular moments.

Bi-Weekly Photo Round Up
Is it weird to say that rolling down a hill in a giant hamster ball has always been on my bucket list? If you want to experience what I did, definitely make sure to check out the Aqua OGO craziness at the Horseshoe Resort in Barrie, ON.

A couple of weekends ago I also finally learnt how to do a properly structured wine tasting. Now I can act pretentious in a restaurant and really know what I'm doing without making a fool of myself! Just kidding.

Last weekend my family and I played a total of 3 rounds of mini putt at completely different courses. Never had I seen my family so competitive yet so excited!

Ending the weekend with an amazing fireworks display over the Niagara Falls is never a let down.

Fun Fact: I used to be deathly afraid of fireworks as a child!

So all of the Winners in Ottawa have apparently been neglected of this fantastic bi-annual event, The Runway. I had my pick of the crop (well not really, we were 3 days post the start of the event), and managed to score myself a beautiful pair of new shoes!

I fully justified my purchase to myself and this definitely was a celebratory shopping trip, so in the end it was all worth it. But I mean seriously, look at all of those goodies! Saint Laurent, Christian Louboutin, I can't believe that these didn't sell out on the first day! Any guesses as to which pair I picked up and which pair I'm dying to go back for?

Bi-Weekly Round Up

Trying out some homemade s'mores since no visits to the cottage happened this summer. But even though trips to the cottage couldn't be made, two trips to different zoos were. Animals will always trump a visit to a lake.

A weekend with friends wouldn't be the same without taking some photots together. But being the blogger I am, photos with friends turn into outfit shots and inspirational hairstyles for work.

Bi-Weekly Round Up

Bi-Weekly Round Up

These past two weeks have quickly flown by and I'm already starting to miss home again. When I first moved to Toronto, I went back to Ottawa almost every second week for about 2 months. But now it's the first time that I've been away for longer than that and it definitely doesn't feel the same. Nonetheless, I still love living here independently and wouldn't trade it for anything else - besides P living here with me as well.

I met the most adorable dog a couple weeks back, his name is Mochi. With fur in the shape of a puff ball, he was the most cuddliest thing that I'd ever laid my eyes on.

I was strolling down Queens street and spotted these adorable Mean Girls inspired posters and just had to take a snap shot. I'm a huge fan of the movie and oddly enough this year is its 10th anniversary. The little posters couldn't have shown up at a better time.

I don't usually wear jewelry but these pretty baubles caught my eye at the Shop for Jayu Collection Launch. And now for the food. I've eaten so much these past couple of weeks that my abs have paid the price for it. Gone into hiding for the fall and winter, I've absolutely decided that it's the right time to start loading up on the tummy fat for hibernation.

Bi-Weekly Round Up

I've fallen harder in love with this vest than I ever anticipated and it's made its way into the majority of my outfits throughout this entire month. When it first arrived in the mail, I wasn't sure how to style it and rarely it wore it out for a whole 2 months. But now it's proved itself to deserve a permanent place in my closet.

Bi-Weekly Round Up
I've been meaning to invest in a new bike for the past couple of years but have yet been able to bring myself to the commitment of riding it around. My biggest worry is that I wouldn't be able to bike with skirts or dresses on - blogger problems.

Bi-Weekly Round Up
Since I started to successfully grow some cherry tomatoes in my planters back in Ottawa, I've been meaning to give myself another try at an air plant. The last time I had one back in middle school, it quite literally died because I did nothing to it. Hopefully with my DIY Terrarium it'll survive this time around.

And if it doesn't, I'll drown away my sorrows in this delicious melon sangria that my cousins have introduced me to. It's quick, easy, light and hits the spot. Did I mention that weekends are reserved for food experimentation? All we ever do is cook, bake and eat!
