I've officially broken out my Mackage for the winter and it's safe to say that I look like I'm dressing the opposite as to what I'm supposed to when wearing a 90% down filled coat. Yes, the jacket is designed to keep me warm, and it definitely does (I can get away with just a T-shirt underneath in -40 degree weather), but because it's so warm, I wear what I choose to without feeling cold. Ever. As if the winter and its whole entirety was negligible. Well besides the beautiful white winter wonderland component, but the cold, dryness and ice can just disappear.
Besides the warm that it provides, I've actually had a hard time coming across a winter jacket that's functional and chic at the same time. The raccoon fur wrap-around collar injects a touch of luxury back into the practicality of winter-wear and the slim-silhouette puts some femininity where a down jacket usually masks. Don't get me wrong, I love my parkas (a toasty bum is a happy bum) and peacoats (welcome back waist line), but when it comes down to putting the two components together the availability of brands that provide that is slim to none. Enter Mackage.
